THE MARCONI DISPUTE. Ry Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 10, 11.10 p.m. London, April 10. Heybonrn, a stockbroker who accompanied -Marconi, Godfrey and Sir R. Isaacs to America and issued the American shares on the English market, described how Godfrey took np half a million. Witness, believeing that the shares would boom, took lip 250.000 from Godfrey at £1 .is, and another two blocks of 50,000 each at £2 2s (id and £2 8s Od on the day before the shares were available to the public. He refused to give the number which he placed amongst his friends prior to April 10. Tie agreed to furnish the names privately. He knew of no dealings by Ministers.
Sir Rnfus Isaacs, speaking at the. City Liberal Club dinner, said that he did not complain of legitimate newspaper criticism, but it would be more fitting to the House of Commons' dignity, after remitting the Marconi incident to a committee, if members withheld their criticisms pending the committee's report. He assured the Club that lie had not committed any act which would lead to a forfeiture •of confidence or esteem.
