The going wad good, and the racing interesting. The sum of £17,608 was put through the totalisator, as against £12,430 last year, an increase of £SI7S. Results:— Karere Hurdles; one mile and throequarters.—s J; Pawson's Sam Pau, by' San Fran—Waikaka, 9.3 (A. McFlynnj, 1; 6 Aema, 9.0, 2; 1 Kauroa, 10.0, 3. 7 Cornelian 10.13, 2 Leolanter 10.4, 3 Flingot 10.3, 3 Ngatimaru 9.13, 4 Eiya 9.4, and 8 Tyrannic 9.2, also started. Eiya and Flingot fell at the second jump, but the riders escaped injury. Won by four lengths, the third horse being a length away. Time, 3min. 19sec. Maiden Plate, of 100 sovs.; six furlongs.—2 C. Troon's Sweet Zinnia, by Simon—Zaida, 8.7 (L. Wilson), 1; 10 Gerbem, 7.2, 2; 3 Whakapona, 8.12, 3. 5 Mexico 8.7, 4 Paplitz 8.0, and 4 Merry' Jack B.G, also started. Bon Reve went to the front, and led to within the distance, where the favorite overhauled her, and, after a fine race to the post, scored by a long neck, with Jason three parts of a length away, third.
