WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent). The Ministerial party were here on Friday last, and were interviewed reCoast leases. A report of the proceedings has already appeared in your col'umns. The party went up the Newall Eoad as far as the school. Mr. Cassie, on behalf of the settlers, .there,, appealed for 'some assistance towards metalling the Carrington Eoad, lying between the N&wall Road and the Puniho Road. By opening up this road it would, he said, reduce the distance the settlers had to travel to about five miles as against 'fourteen by the route which they now 'tajke. The estimated cost of metalling was £BOO, and £IOO was. already on the estimates, and if the Government would find £3OO the settlers were prepared to fiiid the other £400.<; ■ .■
iHon, Mr. Fraser, as' Minister for Public; Works, said he would do this. The Hon.' Mr. Massey' then addressed thje scholars of the school, and then the children were dismissed' for -the day. (The Warea School has been closed for sojme time owing' i« -an s outbreak of measles in the district. ' '
