SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. High south-easterly winds continued in and northward of Cook Strait, and moderate to strong easterly breezes elsewhere. Cold and changeable weather. lias been experienced generally and heavy rain squalls along the East Coast and the south-eastern portions of the North Island, with heavy seas on these coasts. The barometer is tow high everywhere. Forecast. —Present indica'tions are for cold, changeable weather, and occasional showers on the East Coast of the North Island and about Cook Strait, with a tendency to _im provement; strong south-easterly winds and northward to strong easterlies else"where, changing to northerly winds generally after about sixteen hours, when the barometric pressure will probably case.
