MAN BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association, j Feilding Monday. Some boys out shooting in the Carnarvon district saw a fire in the distance at 3 o'clock on .Sunday morning. In the afternoon, on passing the spot they made an inspection, and found a caravan on wheels destroyed. On examing the remains, one boy, W. Holman, was horrified to find the charred remains of a man lying across a stretcher. The man had evidently been suffocated whilst asleep. The body has been identified as X. Marshall, who was engaged on a road metalling contract.

A TRAMWAY FATALITY. Wellington, Monday. Alexander Stitt ,of Westport, fell off a tram-car near the Post Office, on Wednesday, and succumbed to his injuries oil Saturday. A LADY KILLED. DEATH FROM EXPOSURE. Napier, Monday. John Peter Lanning, a single man 27, died last night on the Pctane Road. '§ He had been out all day in a motor boat which broke down on (lie return voyage. A high wind drove the launch up into the inner harbor, where it went ashore. Lanning attempted to keep it floating to save it from damage.
