PIRACY AT HONG KONG.
BRITISH STEAMER BOARDED AND LOOTED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Hong Kong, April 4. A hundred pirates boarded the British West River steamer Tuion at Hongkong, disguised as passengers. When three hours out they killed the steersman and a passenger, and wounded four other Chinese passengers. They tied up Captain Holmes, Chief Ollieer Cornwall and Engineer Macartney. The pirates then attempted to burn a lady missionary's cabin, but they took the missionary to the saloon, where she persuaded the pirates not to kill the English officers. After stealing 150!) dollars in cash, and many valuables, they disabled, the engines and escaped in the boats.
