FIRES.
HOUSE BURNED AT KARORI. ' By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Wednesday. A six-roomed house at Karori, owned and occupied by Francis O'Connell, was totally destroyed by fire last night. The building was insured for £450 in the State office, and the furniture, for £125 in the Phoenix office. Mrs. O'Connell and child went out of town yesterday. O'Connell came home about 6 p.m., and lit a kerosene lamp. He later went out, returning about 10.30, when he saw flames issuing from the bedroom window.
