ATHLETICS.
FRANKLEY ROAD SPORTS. A reminder is given of the Frankley, Road sports, to be held to-day in the grounds kindly lent by Mr. H. J. Okey, M.P., within, a mile 'of the borough boundary. The case with which the grounds can be reached, combined with the facts that it is the 'tween season for sport, and that no other local fixture lias been arranged, should ensure a good attendance. Those who attend will find that the committee have left no stone unturned that can tend. to add to the enjoyment. A capital programme of varied events has been arranged, including the tug of war, which promises to be very exciting indeed, as the mill team; has been engaged in practising pulling against the steam hauler, and intends to lower the colours of the redoubtable Maoris. The cycling and running events have filled really well. The children have not been forgotten either, as tovs galore have been purchased for the juvenile races. Conveyances will leave' the Post Office at I p.m. for the sports. Afternoon tea will be available ' on the ground, and th» dav's amusement will conclude with a dance in the gymnasium.
