THE XAVILE CUP FINAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Night. Tho final of the Savile Cup was played between Mangalieia (Gisborne) and Te Awamutu. The ground was in excellent condition, and the weather delight-, ful, the attendance being large and fashionable. Mangahcia had no difficulty in beating their less experienced rivals; indeed, a more exciting finish would have been between the winners and Hawke's Bay, who succumbed to a very small margin early in the contest. Mangaheia beat Te Awamutu at all points of the game. Their riding was better, their hitting far superior, and their combination in a higher class. From the start, Gisborne piled up goals, and at the finish won by 10 to nil. Sherratt scored 4, Reynolds 4, and J. R. Murphy 2 goals. The winners were presented with the Savile Cup bv Mrs. R. S. Abraham, wife of the vice-president. In the handicap tournament ,Hawke's Bay beat Harwarden B, and Rangitikei beat Harwarden A.
