ELECTRIC PLANT'S FAILURE.
MEN THROWN OUT OF WORK.

Tn throe firms alone iiOl) hands will be temporarily thrown out of work in consequence of the stoppage of the Wnipori power. Efforts are being made to run [a gas plant. Meanwhile it is hoped to give Irvine ami Stevenson's freezer a few horse-power to-night; otherwise £3(100 worth of sheep will he destroyed. A big gang of workmen is employed' at the Waipori dinning, and it is hoped, with line weather, that the trouble will ibe got over by Wednesday morning.
