ELECTORS, NOTE!

I FIVE POLLS IX OXE DAY. Elector* of New i'ivmouth will .assuredly realise their civic responsibilities on Wednesday, April 30, on which day there will be no fewer than live polls at which to exercise their franchise. These are:— (1) Election of Mayor. (2) Election of Borough Councillors. (3) Election of members of the Harbor Board. (4) Election of members of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. (f>) Saturday closing poll. The lumping together of the polls is in accordance with recent legislation, which enacted that several elections shall take place simultaneously throughout the Dominion on the one da I '—the fourth Wednesday in April. The franchise, which involves purely residential qualifications, has recently been considerably widened in its seope—so much so that many young persons over 21 years of age are notaware that they have a riaht to, vote.
