General De Wet addressed a great meeting at Patchefftroom in support of General Hertzog. The majority of those present consisted of General Botha's supporters and pandemonium reigned. The police ejected many. A vote of confidence in General Botha was carried. General De Wet thereupon declared that General Botha was supporting the Unionists, and this renewed the uproar.
