GOOD TEMPLARY.
I BIENNIAL SESSION. The biennial scion of the Independent Order of Good Teniphtrs tinued yesterday morning. Bro. Cameron, G.E.S., read the report on what has become known as "The Auckland Case" committee, in which it was recommended that the charter of. the Auckland District Lodge be restored. The report was unanimously adopted, and a hope was expressed that' everything would now run smoothly between the various parties concerned. The report of the Special Finance Committee was submitted bv Ilro. Bascavid. The committee recommended that an organiser be placed in the field for a term, and if successful to be continued indefinitely. A long discussion ensued upon this phase of the question, members being unanimous that an organiser was urgently needed, the only'diniculty in the way being a matter of finance. The recommendation to appoint an organiser was finally adopted. Bro. Dalton, G.C., submitted the report of the state of the Order Committee, which recommended a number of suggestions believed to be beneficial to the Order, and after a number of minor alteration:; had been made in the report it was finally adopted. Bro. J. Petterson. representing Hope of Shannon Lodge, was elected to reprer sent the Grand Lodge at the session of the International, Supreme Lodge to be held in Christiana, Norway, in June, 1914.
CONCLUDING SESSION, j! • Bro. H. B. Thomson, G.C.T., called the Grand Lodge to order at 7.150 p.m., after ' which the business of tha session was resumed. Bro. N. Ingram. D.C.T.. was appointed to represent the Order on the New Zealand Alliance Executive. Bro. W. Johnson., D.1.C.T.. announced that he bad conferred the International Degree upon ten members. Sister C .Cameron, G.S.J.W., submit- • ted the report of the Juvenile .Committee. Clause 1, in reference to the, Juvenile pledge created a long and very interesting discussion, and was finally adopted, which means that for the future the Juveniles will be required to take only one pledge, unless otherwise provided in the district concerned. All the other clauses were adopted without debate, The Obituary Committee then brought down its report, and a regret was expressed that so many members had pas- ' sed away since the last session. A motion was unanimously carried expressing the thanks of the Grand Lodge to the members of the Egmont Lodge for their hospitality, and for the many kindnesses they have received from the members and friends in New Plymouth. ißro. Hartnell, G.M., suitably replied. A vote of thanks was accorded to the official reporters and to the local press \ for publishing such full reports. ; Bro. Ellis suitably responded. Thanks were also accorded to Bro. Andrews, P.G.C.T. and Bro. Thomson for ably presiding during the session. " The P.Cf. announced that the G.L. officers and members had decided to pr» sent the Ecmont Lodge with an ed coyv of the group photos of the a» sembled delegates and visitors. A presentation was made to Bro. Arnold! Grand Messenger, for his val* able' services during the session. ■ The session was then concluded with the usual ceremonies,-to reassemble in Wellington at Easter, 1915.'
