LLOYD SENT TO PRISON. THE JUDGE'S REMARKS. I By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 28, 8.40 p.m. Sydney, March 28. Frank Lloyd was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment in connection with the Williams Amusement Company shares case. Judge Backhouse declined to treat him as a first offender, but lie did not think Lloyd would serve the whole sentence. He added: ''l know that in cases of this class the actual punishment very often falls on innocent persons. It is that fact which makes me almost hate coming to this Court."
