ATTORNEY-GENERAL'S EVIDENCE. HIS DEALING IX SHARES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, March 25. (living evidence before the Marconi Committee, Sir Ilufus Isaacs denied that he had any connection with the Government Marconi negotiations. He had no dealings with any Marconi company prior to the Marconi contract. His brother subsequently mentioned purchasing American Marconi shares, and witness purchased some after ascertaining that the company was not interested in the English company. The latter had a controlling interest, and undertook to guarantee the American company's issue of seven million dollars. Three' English directors had seats 011 the American company. Before making the investment he ascertained that the English company contract could in nowise affect the American company. It had not occurred to him when attacked to mention the investment in order to prevent unfounded insinuations. He expected the committee would require his evidence. SIR RUFUR ISAAC IS SORRY. Received 26, 5.5 p.m. Loudon. March 25. Sir Rufus Isaacs. Attorney-General, agreed, in view of the subsequent stories and insinuations regarding the Marconi share deals, that the American transaction was unwise. Received 2fi, 11.10 p.m. London. March 20. Sir Rufus Isaacs, in his evidence, stated that lie held .150 (?) shares, for which lie paid GGs Gd. He still held the balance. If he had sold all he would have cleared £12.500. instead of a loss amounting to I*l3oo. Mr. Lloyd George and the Master of Elibank lost £IOO each.
