The New Zealand Shearers' Association began its annual conference to-day. .Mr. -1. King presided, and delegates were present from "Wellington. Canterbury. Otago, Marlborough a'.id fiisborne. The conference was not open to the press, and no details of the business transacted are available this evening.
METHODISTS' CAMP. Wanaanui. Last NiL'lit:
The New Zealand Methodist Young Men's camp and Young Women's Convention concluded here to-day. Both were the most successful yet held. All participating had n. very enjoyable time, and much interest w;t- taken in the various meetings, a spirit of religions ear nestness pervading all. 011 Sunday evening 370—mostly young men and women —partook of communion at the close of ilic service.
