HAWKE'S BAY MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Association. Hastings, Saturday. The fifth annual meeting of "the Hawko's Bay Rifle Association opened to-day. The entries totalled 112. To-day's firing opened with the Hastings Match, 300 yds, which resulted as follows:—Loveday (Woodville) 49, £4; Marenzi (Eketahuna), 47, £2 10s; Cameron (Opaki) 4G, 30s. I Tyros—McFarlane 44, Meech 45, Marshall 45, each 10s. Wairoa Match, 000 yds, 10 shots—MacAllister (N.S.W.) 46,* £4; Croxton (Karon) 44, £2 10s; Cameron (Opaki) 44. £1 10s; Marenzi (Eketahuna) 44, £l. A number of competitors lost their material in the fire on the mail train on Thursday, Roots losing everything except his rifle. They are, however, being accommodated by other competitors.
