MAWSON'S EXPEDITION.

Moves' and Kennedv. two South Australian members of Dr. Mawson's expedition, were enthusiastically welcomed by their fellow university students. Grotesquely garbed undergraduates, provided with a weird collect-ion of musical instruments, took possession of the returned men, carried them shoulder high to a hand truck, and, galloped helterskelter through the main streets to the university, •where an uproarious reception was given. A WARM AVELCOME. Received 24. 12.25 a.m. Sydney, March 23. Frank Wild. Captain Davis and other members of Dr. Mawson's western party have arrived, and were warmly welcomed. THE CALL OF THE SOUTH. Received 24. 8.30 p.m. Svdnev, March 2-1. AVild, after narrating the dangers attendant to Antarctic exploration, was asked if he thought fhe work was worth it. lie declared that it was of scientific value. Their research was arcat, and the explorers enjoyed it. The scenery was magnificent and gave the necessary fillip to their arduous tasks, lie was ready to go back. Shackleton was talking of another expedition, and AA'ild would go with him if he could get a place. Captain Davis stated that Mawson was- well boused and had plenty of provisions and fuel for another year. AVhen he returns in November or December to pick the party up there is every reason to believe that they will fare well.
