He states that he may he able on Tuesday to submit proposals which will be considered reasonable and acceptable. Received 24, 0.30 p.m. Sydney, March 24. The southern mining position is unchanged. There is an ominous report that the coal-owners are preparing to turn out the pit horses for a lengthened spell. The men are unperturbed and determined. Five hundred coke workers will be idle unlets a settlement is arrived at in a few days. WHARF LARORERS RESTIVE. Sydney. March 22. The possibility of more trouble between the wharf laborers and the shipping companies is foreshadowed. The former have called a special meeting for Wednesday to consider giving a month's notice to both deep sea and inter-state owners in favor of an increase of sixpence \w hour in wages all round from July 1. ANOTHER STRIKE THREATENED. Sydney. March 21. Another strike is threatened. The city bread carters are dissatisfied with the Wages Roard award, and will meet to-morrow to decide if they shall come out.
