Sir Gerald Strickland, the Governor, in opening the show, declared that it was unrivalled on this continent, and famous throughout the world. Yesterday the attendance was a record. Fred. Fairey (Nelson) secured first prize for fat ox in the Hereford class. A. .1. Keith, another New Zealandcr. showed the champion fat cow, which scaled 10251b. TIIE SHOW SALES. Sydney. March 20. At the show cattle sales prices were moderate. A number of Shorthorn cows, on behalf of Williams, of To Ante station, llawke's Bay. ranged to 115 guineas. NEW ZEALAND SaLF.S. Received 21. 5.5 p.m. Sydney. March 21. At the show the following sales were made: —.Shorthorns: On account of Dalziell Bros., llunterville. one heifer, 55 gns.: on account of W. T. Williams. To Ante, four heifers, at 47V'j gus„ 00 gns., 230 gns. and On gns. The best price for a milking strain Shorthorn bull was SO gns.
