A CHARGE OF PERJURY. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night, As a result of the remarks made by. the Magistrate on tho evidence given in a Police Court case recently, a young man named George Williams was charged to-day with perjury. Williams had been charged with assaulting his wife, and swore that he was not at his wife's place on the day in question, while the prosecution now allege that he was there. Williams was committed for trial. SHOOTING WITH INTENT. Eketahnna, Last Night, Before Messrs. Herbert and Shiswell. J.P.'s, to-day, Patrick OTJonneli was charged that on Smi<is'v he did wound William P. Fraser bv discharging a gun with intent to do grievous bodily harm to his neighbors. The case was the result of a disagreement, fine pellet struck Fraser. mllieting a skin abrasion. Defence was reserved, and accused was committed to the Wellington Supreme Court for trial, bail being allowed, himself in £IOO, and one surety of £lllO.
