The Horticultural Society's Show will it is to he hoped he favoured with good weather to-day and to-morrow. The entries are coming in splendidly, and although the climatic conditions'have not been too goon latterly, yet there are M)n| e good flowers to he seen around, and the show-rooms A'ill be worth a visit. Afternoon tea will be available, ami the Society being located in such a central position as Mr Drake's building will doubtless be well patronised. A vcrv substantial prize, viz., a silver tea service, is oflered for the sheep-guessing competition, so that should attract numerous entries.

Entries have come in well also for the sports next Thursday, and it will be quite like old times to see the chopping men at work again. Irewin's Pictures are still being well patronised, the I'dms screened being of good quality and well shown, more especially since an improvement in the light has .been effected. Next Saturday should be a busy one for the town as the Easter holidays are also striking the milk cheque day very closelv.

The weather is turning colder at nights and the Elusive succulent muslil'oom, of which quite a quantity has been obtained lately, will gradually fade into only a remembrance.
