OPUXAKE HACK MEETING. T!k> Opunnke Racing Club's Hack; meeting was held at Pihaiua yesterday, in dull and threatening weather, but i the rain fortunately held off, and there was an interesting day's sport. The attendance was large, visitors coming from all parts of the district by trap and motor and on foot. The totalisator turnover amounted to £1)371 as against] £77fi2 last year. Arthur Olliver was tfte. most successful jockey at the meeting,! riding three winners, whilst C. .Jenkins rode two. and Alf. Olliver, Adams and Trigger one each. All the officials worked Lard, and the meeting was one of the most successful this popular club has ever held. The winner was in front all the way, and won easily by half a length. Time, Imin 18sec. Haydn Park was favourite, and his rider, Copestake, was disqualified for three months for not riding his mount out. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 5C sovs; second horse 5 sovs from the I stake. The Metropolitan Trotting Club has. altered the dates of the Easter meeting from Saturday and .Wednesday to Wednesday and the following Saturday. The J Gaming Act provides that a two days'' meeting shall not cover more than four days. The. club regarded Sunday as a "dies non," but the Government refused sanction for the original dates, hence the alteration. A Sydney cablegram atates that Uncle j Sam has been scratched, for all engagements at the A.-T.C. meeting. j
