Tim enquiry into tbe loss of the Calvados shows that she struck a reef on the island of St. Andrea, in a snowstorm. The passengers were panicstricken. Some jumped overboard, and others were washed away. The bulk of them were, landed on a small rock, and reached tbe island. Twenty-seven were on an exposed rock for two days, and several were frozen to death.
