The Council of the 'incorporated Law Institute is not, pleased with the latest appointments to the High Court, and has forwarded to Mr. Fisher resolutions that in order to ensure that the High Court and the Court of Appeal from Supreme Courts of the States shall retain the fullest mea-urc nf .-onl'idi'iice of the public it is essential that appointments thereto should be made from the foremost ranks of the profession in one or more States, and that I he Council notices with regret (he two recent, appointments. and fears that a dangerous precedent has been created.
