FIRES.

HOTEL DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Dunedin. Last Night. At 11 o'clock last night a fire broke out in the Royal Hotel at Milton, owned and occupied by Patrick Laffey. The building contained about 20 rooms, but the only tenants were Mr. and Mrs. Laffey i'nd members of their family. The outbreak occurred in the rear portion of the premises. The occupiers escaped, but nothing was saved, the building being completely destroyed. The house was insured, but the amount is unknown.
