At the inquests on two suicides by lysol poisoning, a doctor said that in his opinion the name of the poison in such eases sliouid not be published. Another doetor said that no reports should be published of the inipiests on 1 suicides. The Coroner. Dr. Cole, summing up. said that there were arguments both for and against publication. Those suicidally inclined were undoubtedly likely to be attracted to a particular means of committing suicide by seeing cases described in the press. but if they had made up their minds to commit suicide it would be very difficult to stop them. The question v.a- whether the hanii done', by non-publieation-' was not counter-' balanced bv the harm caused by publi--cation. Tf all poisons were sold diluted, they coubl still be used for medical purposes. This specially applied to lysol.
