THE KOWHAI.
SUCCESSFULLY DOCKED. Duncdin, Last Night. Salvage operations On the Kowhai, which was badly damaged at the heads yesterday morning, were continued throughout last night. The suction dredge was got ready as soon as possible, the powerful pumps recently imported for the new tug being fitted on her] She then groped her way through the darkness to the Kowhai. and pumping operations started. A little later the pump, "which has a lift capacity of about 18,000 tons per hour, steadily gained on the water, but as the water was still freely rushing into the vessel operations were suspended to permit a diver to go down and block the opening more effectively.
