However, there was no difficulty in ascertaining approximately the financial posit : on of the club. The overdraft had been reduced by £8 during the year, whilst there were outstanding liabilities to the extent of a fewpounds which would probably be met l>y the outstanding subscriptions and lees. A good deal of extra expenditure had been inciured in connection with the ■ greens, which were' now in good condition. But for this the overdraft would have been reduced by another £2O. The club was in a sound position. It had converted its old lease into, another running for eight years, the rent for which, had been paid. The club would therefore sit rent free for the next eight years. They had as assets the pavilia* buildings, rollers, mowers, etc. Last year the membership was between 60 and 70. and the indications were that it Would be maintained this season. Several members had guaranteed the account at the bank in the interests of members as a whole, and therefore he hoped members would remain loyal to the clubJFlie services .of Mr. McCormick, the coach, had been engaged from April IGtlt to 22nd, and July 21st to 28th, and he trusted they would be availed of to a. greater extent than tliev were last season. Friends and members of the club had been very generous in the matter of presenting trophies which had provided many competition that had proved interesting and enjoyable. The thanks of the club were due to the donors. After discussion the report was adopted. The election of officers resultedr —President, Mr. T. C. List (re-elected), Vice-Presidents, Messrs. G. Grey and R. Coclc; Captain, Mr. G. Grey; Hon. Secretary, Mr. E. Avery: Treasurer, Mr. N. M. Perry; Auditor. Mr. 11. 11. George;. Committee, Messrs. W. 11. Broome, Wood, Kind and Hempton. Two new members were elected. The resignation of Miss Winifred White, lady captain, who had left thedistrict, was received, and it was decided to convey to ivr the club's appreciation of the valuable services she had rendered during her association with the club. The opening dav was fixed for March; 29th, when a mixed foursome will b& played between teams selected by thePresident and Captain. A. committee was set up to resist the valuation put upon the club's interests by the Poro.tigh valuer. The President intimated his intention of presenting a club for competition this seasun. Yotcs of thanks were accorded to the : donors of trophies, the press and the chairman.
