Yesterday's suffragettes have been sentenced to three weeks' imprisonment in default of finding sureties, and two others to a month's imprisonment in default of paying a line for smashing the Home Ollice windows as a protest against yesterday's arrests. A great stream of vehicles is delivering at the suffragette headquarters a variety of goods, from coal to ginger beer. The lioax is a greater annoyance to the tradesmen than to I.he suffragettes. The suffragettes victimised a large number of public and professional men throughout- the country by sending a leaflet envelope containing a halfpenny, on which the po-,t olliee surtaxed the recipient sixpence for an unregistered letter containing coin. Th ere were uproarious scenes at Miss | Kinney's meeting at Xnftiimbam. Fireworks and detonators W( re discharged. The audience destroyed banners nnd smashed the windows.
