SUPREME COURT.

NAPIER SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Per Press Association, Napier, Wednesday, in the Supreme Court Mahanga Haor* was admitted to probation for eighteen months for theft. Harry Mcintosh Murison was admitted to twelve months' probation for supplying a girl witli a noxious drug. In the latter case his Honor said that prisoner had behaved straightforwardly and married t.l*e girl. There was only one case on record in New Zealand where probation had been granted for such an offence. Charles Kingston was found guilty of assault with intent and was remanded for sentence. SESSIONS CONCLUDED. The New Plymouth sessions of the Supreme Court concluded yesterday. AN UNDEFENDED ACTION The Public Trustee proceeded against John Jemison with a claim for £2OO and interest in respect of monies alleged to have been lent to the defendant by Wm. Birnie, deceased. Mr. Quilliam appeared for the Public Trustee, and there was no appearance of the defendant. Mr. A. H. T. Jones, officer in charge of the Public Trust Office. New Plymouth branch, gave evidence in support' of the claim, and His Honor gave judgment for the amount claimed, with costs according to scale. Discharges of bankruptcy were "ranted to Margaret Harrison Brooking and Hengist Creville. Mr. A. R. Standish appeared for the latter applicant. This concluded the sessions. The public examination of a bankrupt (David Smith Fox) will be held before the Registrar of the Supreme Court. The next sessions of the Court at New Plymouth will beheld on June 17.
