Franklin, a male suffragist, who was charged with having set fire to a railway train at Harrow 7 on December 18, has been sentenced to nine months' imprisonment and ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The National Union of Women's Suffrage societies resolved to oppose the Government candidates and support Labor men. Non-militants have begun a boycott of tradesmen and clergymen opposed tothe suffrage, and will divert their charitable and other donations to the suffrage cause.
