Franklin, a male suffragist, who was charged with having set fire to a railway train at Harrow 7 on December 18, has been sentenced to nine months' imprisonment and ordered to pay the costs of prosecution. The National Union of Women's Suffrage societies resolved to oppose the Government candidates and support Labor men. Non-militants have begun a boycott of tradesmen and clergymen opposed tothe suffrage, and will divert their charitable and other donations to the suffrage cause. They will withdraw their money from the Post Office Savings Bank and reinvest it in countries where the suffrage is granted. Suffragettes destroyed railings, lamps and small trees at Nottingham Forest reireation ground. The culprits were no', detect 3d.
MILITANTS MOBBED. ' London. March !>. Many thousands of people at Wimbledon Common rendered a suffragette meeting abortive. There was wild disorder at Hyde Park, where five thousand people mobbed the militants. A strong force of police rescued Mrs. Drummond and others. The suffragettes burned the bowlers' pavilion at Heaton Park, Newcastle.
