Dr. Mawson lias sent a wireless message to the Federal Meteorologist that - the climate of Adelie Land is probably ' the severest on earth. The average •wind velocity is fifty miles an hour south-by-east, direct from the Pole. There are deluges of snow. In a wireless message to Professor 3lason, Dr. Mawson says that there is still a hope that he may get away. If remaining another year, he is certain to Iceep in wireless touch with Australia, all being well.
