A dispute has arisen over the demand by the previous medical ollicers for an increase in fees from l is to -21s from each financial member pel' annum, and accouchcmcnts from >:l lis lid to e:; OS. The societies are willinu- to increase the fees to 21s and CI -is. with the right of private practice and a guaranteed minimum of £.>!)() per annum. One of the medical ollicers interviewed slated that the matter was one for the British .Medical Association, which, he understood, was going to take up'thc (|ue-lion of payment of doctors by the New Zealand friendly societies.
