The British steamer Kalvados, trading locally, was lost in the Sea of Marmora a week ago. Loss of life at the time was officially denied, but it is now admitted that the crew and 200 passengers perished.
FAT!': OF A BARQUE. Adelaide, March 8. The French lmri|ue [lean Hart, bound from Antwerp to Wallaroo with a cargo of pig iron and coke, is ashore on Wardang Island, opposite Port Victoria. The crew have landed, but it is feared the vessel is a total wreck. STEAMER WAIMEA ASHORE. , By Telegraph.—Per Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. TJie steamer Waimea, 452 tons, bound froiii U'iiugaiuii to Wellington, wont ashore at Oliariu Bay during an exceptionally heavy fag at 4 a.m. to-clav. The vessel was floated o.'l' several hours later. Captain Stevenson states that the steamer is uninjured. .:
