SWIMMING.
TIJK HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. Yesterday afternoon was a busy (inn 1 at tin 1 baths, being tlic occasion ()£ the lligli Scliool Roys' Animal Swimming Sports. There was a good attendance of interested spectators. No fewer than 110 boys entered the water in tin: various evenis during the a'flenioii. one event drawing no less than 02 competitors, necessitating nine heats and three semi-finals before I lie final was reached. In all during the afternoon -IS evenis (including heats) were disposed of. The events -were got off promptly to time, which speaks volumes for the organising powers of those in charge. Mr. Ryder, as chairman of the Boy*' -Sports Committee, deserves kudos. He was ably assisted by a capable set of officials, in'cluding tiie starter, Mr. W. J-J. Moves (Principal); the judges, Messrs. IT. Stocker, Ceo. Tabor, W. Lints, Ward and Fenton; the- timekeepers, Messrs. J. 13. Stohr and N. Greiner; and the marksmen, Messrs. Balliam and Hall. Mr. Morris, caretaker at the baths, also rendered valuable assistance. The handicapping at the hands of Pott.. G'oss and Ewing" I. produced some close finishes. Results:—
