The ranks of enthusiastic horticulturists increase year by year, owing in a very large measure to the annual exhibitions of the horticultural societies. The success of one grower makes his neighbor put hie Vst foot foremost, and thus a healthy rivalry is produced, making for better cultivation and increased production. There is no special formula for the gardener. Commonsense plays a big part, and this prompts the use of good seeds, good fertilisers, and so on. Young gardeners who wonder at the failure of some of the garden crops should make a point of attending this show and getting into conversation with some of the more successful growers. The classes for (lowers will be very largclv filled at ibis show, and visitors are promised a big display of the choicest blooms, whlist the vegetable section also promises to ho exceptionally strong.
