AUCKLAND REFORM CLUB.

ADDRESS BY .MR. FISH El!. By Telegraph —Press Association. A uekland, Tuesday. A brief address was given by the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher to the members of the Reform Club at the lunch hour to-day. Mr. Fisher said some people thought that no sooner would the Massev party be in power than miracles would hap- . pen, that reforms would be all passed at onee, and that changes would immediately take place. That, lie did not need to remind them, was a mistaken ■ idea altogether, for no party in the r world was able to carry out changes, no matter how necessary they were, all at , oiice. The party had put through some of its reforms last session, but if it had . not done everything, its supporters must , not be in too much haste to review pro- , gress made as not being fast enough. Speaking of trade relations Mr. Fisher ' said the bonds of Empire might exist to a very real extent, but in his opinion the 'best way to foster Imperialism was by a complete interchange of commodities between the component parts of the Empire. (Applause). Mr. Fisher then went on to refer to his coming visit to Australia where he would meet representatives from Canada and Australia, and he hoped the result of his conference with other trade Ministers would result in a notable increase in trade between the three -countries. "There are immense possibilities foi this country in the matter of trade, said Mr. Fisher. "One has only to mention the trial shipments of frozen mutton which the Prime Minister is sending " on to the European market. There art many other channels which can be open J ed up and reciprocal trade with othei t parts of the world, will do more thnr n anything to bring our country on, make e it progress at a rapid rate, and make ii s known as a country of resource ant '. wealth." i- —■
