Received 4. 11.40 p.m. London, March 4. A thousand laborers at the London and Xorth-Wcstern Docks at (Jarston and Liverpool have .struck, refusing to work with non-unionists. Three docks have been closed. THE RAILWAY STRIKE. Received 5, 1 a.m. London. -March 4. A meeting of the London executives of four railway unions, representing 170,000 men, discussed the situation. At a meeting of general managers today it was stated that the companies were preparing for any emergency. The newspapers declare that the men seem to desire a strike, and explain that as three other lines cover the Midland system, and the Midland has a pooling arrangement with the London and Northwestern Company, the executives favor a general strike. A FERRY STRIKE THREATENED. Received 5, 1 a.m. Sydney, March 4. Another strike is threatened. Incensed at the delay in obtaining a Wages Board award, the Ferry Tug Boat Employees' Union will take a ballot on Friday on the question of coming out. A previous meeting strongly favored a strike, which would mean the paralysing of the ferry traflic. AX IMPERIOUS ULTIMATUM. Received 4, 5.5 p.m. London. March 3. The Doncaster ralhvaymen passed a resolution in favor of a strike to reinstate Richardson: also to demand, as an indemnity, a universal eight hours' day and an all-round increase of sixpence daily, with a minimum of 30s weekly, and the reinstatement of all men victimised since August. 1!)11. RICHARDSON'S DISMISSAL. London. March 3. Citizens aver that the Midland Railway Company's defence is monstrous and immoral. The directors claim the right to jeopardise life when they choose, but the blood of the rnilwaymen is up. THE UNITY OF FORCES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. At an open-air meeting to-night, at which addresses were given by Messrs. P. C. Webb. D. G. Sullivan. A. Glass, and J. Ford, the following motion was carried unanimously: That this meeting expresses satisfaction with the basis of the unity of the forces of labor as brought about by the recent labor conference at Wellington, and those present pledge themselves to do all in their power to bring that, unity to a, successful issue.
