CYCLING.
PROPOSED SPORTS GATHERING. A well-attended meeting of the Rover Cycle Club, Mr. Geo. Tabor presiding, was held last evening to make arrangements for holding a cycle sports meeting on the Recreation Ground on Thursday, April 10. A strong committee was set up consisting of Messrs. R. Rentier. G. Bell. J. Bennett, A. George, J. Elliott' W. Whitaker, J. Hawkins, F. Moreshead' E. Nippert. Goldsmith, J. Smith, H Moon, H. Brooks. B. Tiopins, C Sadler ,1. MeLeod, ,T. Clarke, C. Brown, A. L.' Humphries. F. Jago, A. R. Standish, P Flanagan, W. Dineen with power to add to their number. The following officers were elected: Messrs. Geo.' Tabor, chairman, W. donas, hon. secretary \ Morshead, starter; J. Bennett, 'timekeeper; J. Elliott, Geo. Griffiths and J. Hawkins, handicap stewards; Renner Catley, Whitaker and Brown, marksmen; A. George, handicapper. An interesting programme of athletic and cycling events will be drawn up, at a committee meeting next Tuesday' including several novei items, such as a cycle obstacle race, motor paced race etc. The committee are offering good prize money, which should induce outside competitors.
