WEATHER.
( SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following weather summary and forecast was issued by the Dominion Meteorologist at 5 p.m.:—Summary: An Antarctic depression lias passed southward of New Zealand, causing high westerly winds and stormy weather, especially about Foveaux Strait, but fair to cloudy weather has prevailed in the north. The barometer has been very ■unsteady in the south, but it remained high in the northern districts. Forecast: Present indication? are for mild and hazy conditions, with fair to cloudy •weather, decreasing southerlies, hacking fey west, to increasing northerlies, in about 24 hours, when the barometer will probably fall everywhere.
