Watkiu's I farm, which is about a mile distant. I The Tariki Horticultural Society held j a very successful social at Tariki on 1 Thursday evening. About thirty couple? ] were present, and enjoyed themselves I capitably on a splendid floor. The passengers returning to Stratford by the slow train on Thursday evening hurled anathemas at the heads of railway officials generally, for that train took full three hours to cover the 30 miles between New Plymouth and Stratford, in those carriages where there were ladies the silence was profound and profane.
