SYNEY GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
A CAUSE CELEBRE. By (.'able—Press Association —Copyright. ■Received 24. 0.20 p.m. Sydney, February 24. A specially constituted tribunal, consisting of tlie Chief Justice and throe judges, has commenced the hearing of an injunction application on behalf of the Citizens' Committee in connection with the alleged eviction of the Gover-nor-General and the taking over of Government House by the State Government. The case bristles with technical difficulties. The main question involved is whether the Government has power to occupy a property for State purposes which it is claimed lias been dedicated as a residence for the King's representative. Counsel for the Government raised the point that, though used as a residence for the Governor, there was actually no dedication for that purpose. The proceedings are likely to be protracted.
