EMPIRE PICTURES. A thoroughly fine selection of films will be unreeled at the Empire this afternoon and again to-night. As usual the programme is arranged from such a wide range of subjects that it cannot fail to interest, educate and amuse. A glance at the advertising column will give intending patrons an idea of the brilliancy of the whole selection to bo introduced for the first time at the matinee today.

Owing to the Theatre being otherwise engaged there will be do pictures showing to-day or to-night. On Monday night the pictures will again occupy the Hall with a brilliant and delightful selection of the finest picture releases. ' ' '

At the Theatre Royal to-night the curtain will rise on the first and only product ion here of the enormously, sucicssful and excruciatingly funny comedv, '■Get Rich Quick Wallingfnrd," which will lie presented by the J. C. Williamson's splendid comedy company, which includes wmi' of the world's best-known and most popular stars. "Get Rich Quick Wallingford was the reigning comedy success for over two seasons in Xew York, and it delighted Sydney playgoers for over thirteen weeks, whilst in Melbourne it attracted record audiences to the Theatre Royal for eight weeks, and tlien had to be withdrawn in the zenith of its success in order to fulfil its present Xew Zealand tour, which proving the most succissful ever enjoyed by a J. C. Williamson, Ltd.. attraction. This evening's production will signalise the debut here of Mr. Fred Xiblo, who is bracketed with Nat Goodwin and William Collier as the most brilliant comedians the American stage has produced. Mr. Harry Corson Clarke, who appears in the role of Hlackie Daw, was the original Jones in "What Happened to Jones?" Miss Beatrice Holloway is pertain to receive a hearty welcome when she appears this evening as Fanny Jasper. Other new arrivals are Mr. James TT. Manning, who will take the part of "Andy" Dempsey, Miss Marian Dunn as Mrs. "Andy" Dempsey. and Miss Margaret Dale-Owen as Bessie Meers. ~ Others in the cast are Messrs E. Peri" Bush, as Eddie Lamb, Cyril French as Willie. Edwin Lester as G. W. Battles, Lowden Adams as Clint Harkins. G. Whitehead as Judge Kenneth B. Lampton. H. H. Wallace as Timothy Battles. Arthur Glynn as RichaTd Wells, Syd. Smith as Henry Quigg, John De Lac-ey as E. B. Lott, Robert Greig as Tom Donohue, Robert Wliyte as Abe Guniher. Misses Maud Wingfield as Jane, Rosalind Smeaton as Gertrude Dempsev, and Enid Bennett as Dorothy Wells. Tlie production is staged under the direction of Mr. Fred Niblo and Mr. J. H. Manning. Mr. S. Smith is stage manager. Mr. Harold Asliton manager, and Mr. Van Heck musical director. The curlain will rise at 7.45 o'clock. Seats in central positions mav be selected at Collier's.
