SHIP'S COOK INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Thursday. John Hoge, cook on the schooner Clio, fell down the steps at the wharf when going aboard his vessel, and sustained a broken log and injuries to his head, which resulted in concussion of the, brain. There are faint hopes of his recovery. TEAM CAR COLLISION. Wanganni, Thursday. A man named E. Cook sustained a slight concussion and had bis shoulder dislocated through being thrown off a dray as the result of a collision with a tram-car this morning.
SEQUEL TO AN ILLEGAL OPERATION. Auckland. Thursday. A girl named Minotaur Bush, aged sixteen, died in the hospital this morning. This is the ease in respect of which a widow named Sarah Eliz-i Skellern was committed for trial, on a charge of performing an illegal operation.
