The House of Lords passed the third reading of the Trade Union Bill and Railways Bill, it deleted the clause sub jeeting the latter to the necessity for an :"'!:nual renewal after a (|nini|uennium. on the ground that the Government was breaking a pledge given to the railways. The Government urged that the Lords' I action endangered the Bill.
