General Martinovitch, when his column was storming Bardaujolt, sent three hundred volunteers armed with shears to break through Turkish wire fences. Only ten returned. There were five thousand Montenegrin casualties in three days. The town of Podgoritza is lik>> an immense hospital. Wounded are lying everywhere, and there is a terrible lack of surgeons. In the partial capture of Ilardanjolt and the Turkish countei attack on the Montenegrin trenches in the plain the Montenegrins lost four thousand out of tlirtv thousand.
SUGGESTED ARBITRATION. THE WEATHER TAKES A HAND. Received 20, 11.3 p.m. St. Petersburg, February 20. It is reported that Bulgaria and Rotinania are willing that Italy and Russia should arbitrate on the differences, under Britain's auspices. Constantinople, February 20. Boisterous weather and frequent snowstorms have checked hostilities. The Bulgarians are in difficulties for supplies, owing to the state of the roads. THE MOHAMMEDAN OUTRAGES. Received 20, 11.5 p.m. London, February 20. Lord Morley, replying to Lord Lamington, said that it was impossible for foreign Governments to investigate the alleged atrocities against Mohammedans in Macedonia and Thrace. The Balkan Governments affirmed that they were taking stringent precautions to protect the inhabitants.
