A SUIiIJESTJON. A very interesting suggestion lias been made to the. American committee that is arranging for the celebration of the one hundredth anniversary of peace between English-speaking people. It is that on l-'ebruary 17. ii)l.">, live minutes shall be formally set aside by Congress and by the British Parliament as a period during which all the activities of the- English-speaking world shall come to a full stop; and during those five minutes "the English-speaking world shall review the hundred years of peace and its attendant blessings with prayer and contemplation." It'is stated that the suggestion originated with Secretary Root. The American committee has endorsed it. and will commend it to the British committee.
