THEATRE STAMPEDE.
THE CRY OF "FIRE!" •Wastertuu, February 17. A somewhat exciting incident occurred at the local Town Hull on Saturday evening. During the progress of a picture entertainment, a break occurred in one of the films. In shutting off the light from the projector a glimmer was thrown upon the screen. This caused someone at tin- back of the hall to raise a cry of "Fire!" Immediately a stampede occurred. Women screamed and fainted, men rushed frantically to the doors, and a scene of the greatest excitement prevailed. The electric lights were promptly switched on, and the manager ran to the front of the ball and announced that there was no cause for alarm. After some minutes, order was restored, people returned, to the i building, and the entertainment was re-1 sinned. Tt is considered exceedingly for- j lunate that no serious injury resulted. I
