' WOOL,. HIDE. SHEEPSKIN AXD TALLOW SALES. L. A. NOLAN & CO/8 REPORT. We held our four-weekly sale on Tuesday., February 11. We submitted about our usual catalogue to a representative body of buyers. Hides were very keenly competed for and sold at high prices again. Tlie average obtained works out at about J / 4 d per lb more all round than last month. Heavy cows', in ordinary condition, made 9%d. medium weight stout ox up to 10% d per lb. Good heavy calfskins made 10% d, light weights fi'/W.' light bulls' up to 7d, heavy to 6%d. The main feature of the sale was, however, the keen competition for lambs' wool. About half of our wool catalogue was tlie latter. We sold one bale at 10'/ 4 d, four at 10d, six at Oy>d, and (ho balance at fid. Fleece realised as high as 9%d from 8 3 / 4 d. Tallow showed a sharp rise, realising from 27s 3d to 27s i)d per cwt. for casks.
